    Zoning Definition of the Day

I couldn't find a language dictionary included in their code anywhere!

Courtesy of the Maui (HI) Planning Commission Special Management Area Rules:
"Average lot width" means the measurement obtained by adding the lengths of the makai sides of lot and the mauka sides of the lot to the length of line obtained by drawing a line parallel with the shoreline from a point in the center of the two sides of a lot which are at or near right angles with the shoreline and dividing the resulting sum by three.
Feel free to add others as you find 'em!
All these years the people said he’s actin’ like a kid.
He did not know he could not fly, so he did.

Seems to me that one of the words means shoreward and the other means mountainward. Perhaps we'll have to and do a site visit to confirm. . .
