Zoning along a PROPOSED 5 lane thoroughfare

Hendricks County, IN is proposing a new 5-lane North/South thoroughfare in the county.

The Planning Department is wanting to do a zoning study along this proposed route, we would like any informational leads on zoning for proposed structures.

Hendricks County is located just was of Indianapolis, IN and is one of the fastest growing counties in the state. By fare the majority of the development we are receiving is residential. Therefore, we would like to preserve this propose corridor for commercial and industrial development. Currently the corridor is primarily zone for low to medium density residential development. We don’t believe this would be the best use for this corridor. The proposed thoroughfare will link three of the large towns in the county with two major interstates and the Indianapolis International Airport.

If anyone knows of any similar projects we would appreciate getting in touch with those entities.

    Thank you,
    Todd A. Barker, Planner
Hendricks County Planning and Building Department

using an industreal zone as a sound baffle next to the freew

sounds like an exclent idea .my only consern would be how to visually screen outdoor storage and work areas with out hindering the businesses unessarily

it would also prevent a lot of heavy truck traffic though town to the industreal zone

make it real easy for the Big trucks on and off the freeway and you go a long way to making every ones life better
