    Guess the City #273

ZG and I went to a small city in Florida this weekend. (TN, keep your mouth shut. )

    Charactistics:

Yankees love to move here to retire.
    On a big-ass lake.
    Next to a county seat.

Is it Nome, AK? Wait its East De Noc, MI.

Crap! I actually put the answer and then saw that you would not let me answer. Don't let SC answer either!!

My brother was married in the Inn that is shown in that first picture. ZG was born close to there.

I'm sorry. Is my bias showing?

Nice try, but nope. Sanford is where I live and it has an OK old downtown, but not nearly as busy as the place RJ posted.

And a bit more topographic variation than Sanford (you can't exactly see it in the images). ZG is correct, good guess. But wrong. Not on Lake Monroe.

*Ding, ding, ding.* We have a winner. TN and ZG can provide more details about the place. A very nice commercial walking town. And ZG, tell your Dog Bakery story.

BTW, I felt like such a complete planner geek taking those pictures. But I'll probably do it again, as I have no pride.

ZG and RJ, if you guys went into the dog bakery, you would have seen a picture of my dog Harry with his party hat on!!! He and my sister-in-law's dog share the same birthday, December 18th, so we bought them a dog birthday cake. It was so cool, they sat at the dining room table and everything.

Mt. Dora is a great place. Great community for artists, fantastic mixture of ranch concrete block homes and Florida cracker bungalows. They have one of the biggest and best art shows in the state. It is situated on Lake Dora, which is a lot of fun to play one (if you mind the alligators), and can be a fun romantic town! However, with all of that said, Lake County, FL is one of the fastest growing counties in the country.

I ate a treat from the doggie bakery. Only because my mom, kid and brother had lunch in Mt Dora a couple years ago and picked up these little treats in paper cups and told me it was left-over little cheesecakes from lunch. So I ate one. It was kind of dry and not too tasty. Then they told me it was a dog treat. Bleeeeechhhh!
