Fall is coming to the panhandle. Lows are forecast to be in the mid-60s this weekend (but warming up during the day to the mid-80s. Shouldn't impact my pool time.

Around here a sure sign is the week long West Side Nut Club Fall Festival,
said to be the second largest street festival in the United States.

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

Are you sure you're not hurt ?
No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
Broke parts take a little longer, though.

How can you have the second largest street festival in the USA when our harvest homecoming is the second largest in Indiana, behind only the Indy500 festival? Where do these chamber types get this stuff?

BTW: Congrats on landing the LST.

Here, now: 86F with dewpoint of 67. Hot and humid.

It's 33C with the humidex here in Toronto.

Incidentally, I was just talking with someone who lives up on the east side of the Algonquin Park, which is a 4.5 hours drive northeast of Toronto, and it's 37C with the humidex.

This heat wave is only lasting for a couple more days and then it'll get more "normal-like" by Friday. *phew*

It certainly doesn't feel like it's October. I feel like it's been summer for the month and a half tha I've been in school.

Just saw that our first freeze will be tomorrow night. Perfect hockey weather and more like Nov./Dec. than Oct. for Colorado.

I'll have to drain some of my exposed sprinkler lines.
You get all squeezed up inside/Like the days were carved in stone/You get all wired up inside/And it's bad to be alone

You can go out, you can take a ride/And when you get out on your own/You get all smoothed out inside/And it's good to be alone

Yes, I think fall is just around the corner for those of us in the Northern part of the country with this big cold front and storm-system moving through.

I've been wearing shorts and sweating with temps in the 80s. But come Thursday, in North Central IL...a high of 56 and a low of 33. brrr... And it won't get out of the 50s and 60s at all for the next week.
