I am looking for any communities that have been successful in having larger retail facilities on the ground floor with residential uses above. We are reviewing an application for a 550 acre mixed use P.U.D and would like to encourage this type of design.
Larger examples are hard to find. I know of some good smaller ones in Wisconsin -- a new interior design store with five apartments above; a variety store/strip center with condos above. This one is especially well designed into the side of a hill so that the living units front on a rear street at ground level. E-mail me if you want more info.
