Thanks Peter.
I think most of us should receive them Friday or Saturday. Did they say anything about funding notices? My fingers are crossed!Originally posted by Peter Bratt
Hmm, just called PSU [6:15pm EST] to continue the group-harrassment policy ... the woman on the phone said she *assumes* the letters will go out tomorrow, and (another assumption) that funding info will be included in acceptance letters. But not, in case you were wondering, in the rejection letters. She was quite clear on that. No funding for rejects. <grin>

I had called earlier today too, and the woman said the decisions had been made and the letters would be going out "this week." When I asked if she knew when within the week (since today would mean we might get it in the mail yet this week but Friday means it'll be next), she said that the letters would be going out "today or tomorrow." Forgot to ask about the funding notices, so thanks fructa.
I'm starting to feel pretty anxious about how much this is going to cost. Gah.
I called to just for the hell of it late this afternoon and got a terse "They are in the mail!" I didn't even get the whole sentence out...only a "I was wondering if..."
so i called columbia's real estate program coordinator and she said that notifications will not be done until the beginning of NEXT WEEK. monday is the 3rd, which means it won't get here til the 6th or 7th. i cannot believe they are waiting that long. that is ridiculous.
That's BS if I ever heard any. So many other programs are asking for decisions to attend by April 15. By the time you hear about funding from Columbia (if sent separately) you will have passed decision deadlines.Originally posted by The District

anyone else going through a sort of empty-nest syndrome now that application season is all over? i don't know what to do with myself! gimme a status page to check, or SOMETHING.
yes, but my time is now filled with trying to make contacts with different developers here in the area in order to look for a different job or internship once school starts.
Great Idea!! I'm currently slogging through my current job wishing school would just start so I could get out of here and finally pursue the path that drove me to apply to grad school in the first place.Originally posted by The District
Then again, there's always the fin.aid/"how am I going to pay for this" stress to fill up my days....
...which can also be filled by looking for scholarships. which i'm also doing. Then again, there's always the fin.aid/"how am I going to pay for this" stress to fill up my days....
No kidding! At least I am busy with final exams and papers this week but it will all be over shortly. I am not going to know what to do with myself this summer only having to work and not attend school. At least I am being transferred to the Planning Department for the summer and will be working on the Comprehensive Plan for the county with the newly minted assistant planner that has just been hired. Should be interesting![]()

I'm in the midst of that as well. Where are you looking? So many out there but so few that I seem to be eligible for.Originally posted by The District
Just posting to pop this thread back up to the first page for the new batch of grad school applicants. Remember....search the threads first, chances are someone had your question last year and it's already been answered.

I just noticed this site...After all of the things I have accomplished: MS CTE degree, Graduate Teaching Assistantship for 18 months, Full time Graduate level GPA of 3.90, Exceptional educational and professional recommendations...I believe that my GRE scores show little or nothing of my abilities or my dedication...But I guess that is life. If I did take the GRE again and did not do well then it would be a waste of money and time. If the GRE or MAT test is all that is keeping me from further educational progress then I would say that my educational journey must be over. It is a shame that people like myself do not have other avenues of admission such as probationary admission or something similar as I would think that there are other educators like myself who would like to go forward and do not have high testing scores. My GRE scores are 360 and 270 and 3.5...I was out of school for several years before taking the exam...
I am having a hard time getting into any school for a EdS or a EdD...I just wanted to say...Thanks...
Every year they send their acceptances/rejections way late. It's their style. I know 3 other students in my program now who basically turned down Columbia out of frustration with their slow Admissions office.
