How far are you travelling for Thanksgiving ?

I am flying to California for a week.
I know that the saturday before will be nice and easy in the airports but what about the saturday after ?

Last year the friday after was nice and easy in the airports.

Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

Are you sure you're not hurt ?
No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
Broke parts take a little longer, though.

Two hours north to the GF’s parents house.

A little over two hour car drive to my parents house.

My sister has a six hour car drive to my parents. She doesn't take that too often!

LIkely across town to my sister's place, then to a downtown sports bar for their annual turkey wing special on the way home (and the two NFL games have to be on during the day, too ).

Four hours north to my brother's house in DFW. His wife made the mistake of asking the entire family to come to Thanksgiving at their house... a move she will regret for years to come!

We're debating whether to leave Wednesday night or Thursday morning due to traffic, especially through Austin. We'll probably go up there Thursday.

Approximately 40 ft. to downstairs, but I anticipate making a few trips from the couch to the fridge for reloads which is a distance of about 18 -20 feet .....so let's figure I'll log maybe 3.5 miles of walking before the day is done.
People will miss that it once meant something to be Southern or Midwestern. It doesn't mean much now, except for the climate. The question, “Where are you from?” doesn't lead to anything odd or interesting. They live somewhere near a Gap store, and what else do you need to know? - Garrison Keillor

    Thursday: 5 miles to Friends.
    Friday: 18 miles to in-laws.
Saturday: bed, couch, kitchen - a couple times
Sunday: 30 miles to the aunt & uncle's.

105 miles south, from the tiny town of Severance, CO (Z's Place) to the sprawling McMansions of Castle Pines (folks house, south of Denver).

Same debate as Burb' Fixer, leave Wednesday night or Thursday morning? We also have to figure out some good over the counter medicine so the GF's cat allergy won't act up. dogPLAN wil take care of clearing the cats to the basement of my folks' place.
You get all squeezed up inside/Like the days were carved in stone/You get all wired up inside/And it's bad to be alone

You can go out, you can take a ride/And when you get out on your own/You get all smoothed out inside/And it's good to be alone

I'm going to work for Thanksgiving. Now that I'm bi-national, I have two Thanksgivings. I took advantage of the three-day Canadian Thanksgiving weekend to visit my family in Ohio, but I'll be in Ontario for American Thanksgiving. It'll be a little weird to be at work while they're turkeying and footballing on Thursday. I think I'll have a turkey sandwich that day.

You know, a shot of Old No. 7 should go a long way, and it's available over the counter...

BurbDog is also accompanying us. My parents are bringing their little holy terror pug that I swear has higher standing than the kids or grandkids. With my brother's dog already on site, it should make for an interesting few days.

Within 2 hours for the actual Thanksgiving day. Then an additional hour the day after. Mr. TN refuses to have Thanksgiving with his family since his family "can not cook."

This year: Dorchester, MA to Malden, MA (sister's house), 10 mile drive on I-93

Next year: Wilmington, NC to Boston, MA, 800+ miles

passdoubt, we can give you a ride next year. Just kick in some gas money.

About 10 feet. I have to make up for last year when I was in England and obviously did not travel home.
