    Class Cap Over-ride

This is not fun. I am in the process of waiting on a phone call to get into a closed class. They have only 18 spots for this on line class and it is one of the few classes that is encouraged but not required. The part that sucks is that it is in a different department, Public Admin instead of Geography.

Our program requires us to take at least half the classes at a 6000 level or above, but they donít offer enough to meet this requirement in the department.

Has this happened to you? Who did you have to beat to get into the class?

Talk to the professor, and use lots of flattery.

If it is anything like here the prof doesnt have that much pull... (fire codes)... talk to the admin asst., get on the waiting list... someone always drops and if their is a list you will be added before it goes back on the 'open mkt'

    good luck

My advisor is going to talk to him, and remind him as well as the Public Admin chair that they open the GIS class up to extra students from their department all the time... even though they only have a set number of available computers with the programs installed.

Needless to say, being that it is an online class... he done not see the issue.
