    NIMBY Theme Song

"Whatever It Is, I'm Against It"
Performed by Groucho Marx in "Horse Feathers" (1932)

I don't know what they have to say,
It makes no difference anyway --
Whatever it is, I'm against it!
No matter what it is or who commenced it,
    I'm against it.

    Your proposition may be good
But let's have one thing understood --
Whatever it is, I'm against it!
And even when you've changed it or condensed it,
    I'm against it.

    I'm opposed to it --
On general principles I'm opposed to it!

    Chorus: He's opposed to it!
In fact, in word, in deed,
    He's opposed to it!

For months before my son was born,
I used to yell from night till morn,
Whatever it is, I'm against it!
And I've kept yelling since I commenced it,
    I'm against it!
    Oddball
Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?
    From Kelly's Heroes (1970)

Are you sure you're not hurt ?
No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
Broke parts take a little longer, though.
    From Electric Horseman (1979)

Not bad, but can we include the phrase "raping the earth"?

Methinks that a Nymby Theme song would sound like the theme song to one of the most famous LULUs of all. The tune should be that of Sanford and Son.

Or Oscar the Grouche's favorite - "I love trash".
"And all this terrible change had come about because he had ceased to believe himself and had taken to believing others. " - Leo Tolstoy

    Here it is from http://members.tripod.com/Tiny_Dancer/trash.html
You want to talk some trash?

    Oh, I love trash
Anything dirty or dingy or dusty
Anything ragged or rotten or rusty
    Yeah, I love trash

I got me a sneaker that's tattered and worn
It's all full of holes and the laces are torn
A gift from my mama the day I was born
I love it because it's trash

    Oh, I love trash
Anything dirty or dingy or dusty
Anything ragged or rotten or rusty
    Yeah, I dig trash

I got me a newspaper thirteen months old
    I've wrapped up a fish
    And it's smelly and cold
But I wouldn't trade it for a big pot of gold
I love it because it's trash
I love it because it's trash

    I've got a clock that won't work
    And an ol' microphone
A broken umbrella and a rusty trombone
And I'm delighted to call them my own
I love them because they're trash

    Oh, I love trash
Anything dirty or dingy or dusty
Anything ragged or rotten or rusty
    Yeah, I love
    Yeah, I love
    Trash!
