    Moving to Toledo

I recently took a job in Toledo and am looking for a cool and gay-accepting , if not gay-friendly, upscale neighborhood. Any suggestions out there?

Hi from Florida. I believe there will be some people to answer your question.

    Listen carefully, see broadly.

Welcome from sw Michigan! There are a few folks around here that are familiar enough with the Toledo area that might be able to help you out - maybe they'll chime in....
People will miss that it once meant something to be Southern or Midwestern. It doesn't mean much now, except for the climate. The question, “Where are you from?” doesn't lead to anything odd or interesting. They live somewhere near a Gap store, and what else do you need to know? - Garrison Keillor

Welcome to NW Ohio, from NW Ohio's resident Bear Up North.

Toledo and NW Ohio are pretty straight. My first thought for a gay-friendly area would be Toledo's famous Old West End. Not sure about housing and/or apartment availability in that area. There are some pretty hip folks in that area, which is near the Toledo Museum of Art.

Downtown Toledo is getting a nice reputation for urban central business district loft apartment living. There is not much, but what I know of is nice.

Good luck with your search, best of luck in your time in Toledo. Stay in touch with this Cyburbian crowd.....we tend to be well-mannered, and slightly wine and beer nourished.

    Welcome from Chicagoland!!!!
I'm sorry. Is my bias showing?

Let's not be didactic in this profession, because that is a path to disillusion and irrelevancy.
