Personally, I don’t care that it annoys you one bit. Even if it does annoy you, there are so many people stand the party line, that it does not matter what is proposed, they don’t like it because a member of their party did not say it. At least one program that he commented on was something that was created by a democrat. OH but that is going to go down in flames now since Bush mentioned it in a speech.
There is no reason to mention any of it if they don’t plan on funding it, at least at that moment in time. Historically, the State of the Union has not influenced approval ratings. This is more of an opportunity to tell Americans where we are, and where he wants to see this county go. Additionally, there have been many times that a president, on both sides, has come up with a great idea, but it was denied funding by congress.
I say that if anyone has any great ideas on the creation of specific programs that are better than what is being offered right now, get up off your butt and either run for office, or contract your representatives and share your ideas. Whining about them on a planning forum board is not going to do anything for your cause.
