Who else will George W. Bush pardon?

Ok, so far W has commuted and pardoned a lot of people:

    Pardons:

    and
    Commutations:
    http://www.usdoj.gov/pardon/bush-comm.htm

    Other ideas:

Got any ideas for even more people he might want to pardon before his last day in office?

This is interesting looking at the offenses he pardoned. Several for (untaxed) liquor violations from the 50s and 60s with several more for cocaine and marijuana violations in the 60s, 70s and 80s - say when was he in college again?

He should probably sign one for Rummy, Rove and Cheney as a preemptive measure

Well, when you compare that list to the list of those whom Bill Clinton pardoned in his last few days , I don't think that we really have anything to worry about.

Can you pardon someone for a crime they have not been charged and or convicted of yet?

Yes - Nixon being a prime example of being pardoned before an indictment was handed down.

I think the president can only pardon or grant commutations for crimes under Federal law, not state laws. So some of these people probably aren't eligible, depending on their crime.

Tom Clancy has included in some of his novels a scenario where the President orders a government employee to break the law as some part of a national security action with the understanding they'll be subsequently pardoned for doing it. It would be interesting to see if a President could pardon themself as they left office for anything they did while in office, or perhaps ever.

Also, while Nixon never admitted guilt for the Watergate scandal, he did accept Ford's pardon, which is considered an admission of guilt.

I voted for Ted Stevens assuming that his age will be a factor, plus his "service to " (or more properly, "servicing" of) the country.

Instead of granting pardons, Dubya should just ask our pardon for his eight years of incompetence at the tiller of state.

I can't believe Clinton pardoned J. Fife Symington III...although he did save Clinton's life when they were young.

you folks must have some funky liquor laws that that many people need to be pardoned.

I think the funny ones are the migratory bird sales.

The motherf*cking cable company! Oh wait, am I the only one who reads Janet Evanovich? In her latest book, every bad thing in life is blamed on the motherf*cking cable company. Like we can't all sympathize?

    Oh good, more bashing.

Please look up PARDONGATE involving Clinton. You all have a myopic view of history and presidents.

Speaking of myopic...why do conservatives always refer back to Clinton whenever someone questions the actions of President Bush?
