Wow, won't this be Jen's first sighting in the new millenium. You do tend to keep a low profile.

So Jen is added to the list... what is the story from our Chicago Friends? Dan? I know Z-man does not like to be in the same state as a real Hockey team, so he will stay in CO.

    Reminder it's THIS SATURDAY

Did we mention that there will be beer?

Is there an itinerary? I am still unsure if I am a definite, but I am about 90 pecent yes. Do I just go to Bells around 2? Do I need to bring party favors like bike maps or Red Wings/Tigers Tickets?

Is there a pre-meeting tour? Can I take the train?

What else is happening in K'zoo that weekend? Which Burger King do I go to for Elvis sightings?

Elvis is at the Burger King at the intersection of W. Michigan and Stadium, on random Sunday afternoons, no tour this year, however we welcome visitors to wander around our downtown. We suggest going into each shop to buy something too.

To my knowledge the only thing going on will be Stanfest. It’s too much of a big deal for the city to allow anything else going on that weekend.

Yes, you can take the train. Bells is walking distance. Your on your own for what time train A will leave Kalamazoo, what time Train B will leave Detroit, and if a both trains will have to stop in Jackson because of a cow standing on the tracks.

As for gifts, if you want to bring Red Wing or Tigers tickets, I am sure that it would not a bad thing.

Oh my gosh, just say YES!

As for me, I was still thinking it was last weekend. I might try to swing a trip up there, but will have to see. I got so much done, so the hubby better let me out of the house for a little bit. I am trying to research the stats on divorce rates for couples that build a house and then move into it.

If its any consolation my hubby and I survived a near aborted attempt to add an addition, lived throught the winter with our main living area reduced to closet size. Now we are living large ( so glad we decided to install AC in the new part) But after last nights torrential downpour I spent this humid day digging up a ton of sand that slid downhill and is bulging through the silt fence!

I hope you make it to the 'Zoo SWMP, you too Dtx P

Maybe we should move the whole thing to Ikea?

Or Super Wal-Mart? Have a contest to see who can get kicked out the quickest. Personally I am worried that we might spontaneously combust as soon as we walk in.

Wait...you have a lake house, right? Maybe we should move StanFest to Jen's and do some swimming and water skiing.

What about the American Barnstormers Tour?
'Course, all I care about is StanFest.

I'm still debating whether to go. If I do, I'll probably take off on Friday night. Are plans still on?

If I do go, I'm travelling with my dogs. Any dog parks in K'zoo? Porties need to RUN at least once a day.

EDIT: I'm there, Hawthorne Suites. Probably arriving very late on Friday. Maister - should I bring some smoked beers?

Hell yes! Remember though, to bring them in a paper bag as Uncle Larry and those in his employ might not take too kindly to 'imported' beers

Do they sell Yuengling Lager over there?

Still no word from Z-man. I guess SHE is afraid of Bells!

Monday July 3rd I went to the Ikea... what a mistake. The place was a zoo, I think there were families who must have planned their 4th of July Vacation about going to the new Ikea in Detroit (Canton), Michigan. I never saw such a bigger group of dirtbags in my life, but then again, being Detroit, we don't have many Walmarts to shop at, as everyone are still K-mart and Target loyalists due to long affiliations.

Not going to be able to make it.

I typically don't pass up stimulating conversation and cold beer, but I'm tied down with other plans.

(there's perhaps a 5% chance I can swing down, but don't count on me)

For the most part, yes. I would also suggest looking at Google Earth or other mapping program as there are a few one way streets in downtown.
