People will miss that it once meant something to be Southern or Midwestern. It doesn't mean much now, except for the climate. Employees should know that sometimes their bosses cover their asses without them ever finding out. It's something bosses do that doesn't get appreciated.

So, a year or so ago, I had a date with this one woman I met throgh OkC. We hit it off, but she left town shortly afterwards, returning to her hometown.

I just checked out her profile, and realized ...

I'd love to see what kind of profile you might encounter that says "yup, only in this town."

From Dan's last post, I was trying to figure out which one statement might be a deal breaker...I couldn't.

I don't think these people actually want to be with anybody. They just want to use the dating site to express how superior they are to everyone else, as a way to justify to themselves why they are still single.

You would think that. You are SOOO high and mighty... maybe they just want to have a militant fight to save the world and have a warm vegan body next to them?

When are some of you actually going to go on dates and tell us about them, so I can live vicariously through you?

'Cause it's the only place someone so far off the bell-shaped curve can possibly meet someone else in that rarefied air. Once you get out past college and start to develop unique characteristics, the pickings get slimmer. Solitude enhances those qualities.

(Want to read about my costume preparations to go be a suffragist at a couple recent gubernatorial appearances? It occurred to me that this would drive an SO a little nuts...and I'm glad there's no one present to grant permission. And I'm not living off the grid!)

I guess my sarcasm missed the mark slightly. My point was these people are so far off the bell-shaped curve that it is no wonder that they are single.

I was always told the woman (men) are like parking spaces, " all the good ones are taken and the rest are handicapped (emotionally, not physically)." The more I talk to my single friends the more I believe these two statements are true.

That reminds me of a line about a single woman's chance of finding a mate in the town of Los Alamos, NM (home of Los Alamos National Lab and not much else)...that “the odds are good, but the goods will be odd.”
