Bye Dark Side, Hello public sector!

If anyone is looking for a job in the private sector in Southwestern Michigan PM me as I know of one that will be available in two weeks.

The job is mine, or it will be mine for another 8 business days. Then it can be yours all yours.

Yup that is right, I am moving on, moving out of town and will soon be working for the State.

Even though I will be working in the public sector I don't think I will have much time to post like I have in the past. At least not until I get settled in.

Wish me luck. I'm gonna need it.

Where will you be moving to?
I'm sorry. Is my bias showing?

    Congrats and best wishes.

(BTW, I'm not looking to join the Dark Side and I'm not looking to move anywhere near Maister. I'll stay right here in the Sunshine State.)

Welcome to the Sunshine, my boy. You have chosen wisely and will be rewarded for your outstanding decision.

Rewarded with derision, below-cost-of-living raises, above-cost-of-living increases in your health care costs, Macchiavellian egoist political hack bosses, and a host of other things that are not trifles.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. Perhaps the hardest thing to get use to is having 12 paid holidays vs. 7. That is going to be tough.

It is going to be a good move for me in the long run. I'll still be working with communities as a quasi-consultant and other state agencies on plan and policy review.

BTW, if you PM'ed me I tried to respond but your inbox was full . Delete some of those e-mails and let me know when I can reply to you.

Good Luck! However, isn't it really true that when you leave the private sector for the public, you have more time for slacking on Cyburbia?
SOME say the world will end in fire, Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice, I think I know enough of hate
To know that for destruction ice
    Is also great
    And would suffice.

Dude, when that hot Arizona starts beating down on your coconut, you really need to be wearing a wide brimmed hat.

I think you may have something there.......I want to get one of those sombrero's from Mexico, you know the one.....extra large bill with sequines and bright colors.... I'll probably end up wearing a hat while still indoors

PBD, sounds like a fun job, policy help for local communities....hmm.....in Florida, those people didn't do the planning, only the review of the planning work done by the City and consultants At the beginning of the process they would provide suggested public outreach and process help mostly.....oh the process....I hope its more straight forward and less useless BS where you are.
