Forget 2008, this is an important election year that we need to pay attention to.

To get the vote out in this mid-term election, Republicans are going to push through an anti-gay marriage amendment to the Constitution.

Nothing like such a non-issue to drive angry Republican supporters to the poll in a season where the President has a dreary 31% approval rating, along with the DeLay disgrace, and the problems with the undercover Plame/Rove/Scooter Libby affair.

Senate panel OKs gay-marriage ban

A U.S. Senate panel advanced a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage on Thursday as the committee chairman shouted "good riddance" to a Democrat who walked out of the tense session.
