Getting an image off Google Maps

I know this isn't exactly cyburbia, but I was wondering if anyone knew how to save an image off google maps? I know how to get it highlighted, but when i paste it, it only pastes text. Anyone know what I can do to fix this?

The only thing that has ever worked for me is a screen capture program, like Capture by George.

We use a similar image capture app named "Mr. Snappy". I beleive it is freeware.

If you're using Firefox (and you bloody well should be) there are some handy, in-browser extensions that you might like:

    https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1146/
    http://www.techsmith.com/snagit/accessories/firefox.asp

Both would appear to take screen captures - one operates a bit seamlessly, with right click context menus and such, and the latter uses a toolbar (if that's your thing).

    Or use - www.local.live.com

Which you can link a spot and then send a "PERMALINK" and it will include all the data including a note with it. I think MSN Viritual Earth is a better program. The bird's eye views on it of areas are great!!! Here's a cool example of their bird's eye view.

goto share and view permalink or just click copy link and you will get the image link...

Have you tried Google Earth? And it's excellent integration with Sketchup?

Actually, I think Google Earth is able to take screenshots directly in program...
