Annoying message and a banner ad for *unregistered* Forums users

Starting tonight, if someone is viewing the Forums, and they're not registered or logged in, they'll see a Google banner ad, and the following annoying message:

You have not registered a Cyburbia Forums account
(Or you have not logged in yet.)

This annoying message and the banner ad will appear on every screen until you register an account or log in. Membership is completely free, and we promise not to send you any spam.

The Cyburbia Forums is the busiest urban/town planning message board on the Internet, and one of the small number of online communities where members enjoy intelligent, troll-free discussion. Cyburbia has hundreds of active members, yet is a strong community full of exciting, friendly, and occasionally offbeat planners, planning students, urbanists and people who care about the built environment. We'd love to have you join us as another Cyburbian.
The message is based on a message displayed to unregistered users on the Something Awful Forums.

If someone is registered and logged in, they won't see the banner ad or the annoying message.

Dan, this idea is great... and since registration here is free (unlike in SA) I bet that there will be new registered people just to avoid that annoying message... Let's just hope that they also decide to post too...

In the past 24 hours, we welcomed 16 new users! It's the third highest day we've had; the first was 26 September 2005 with 27 new users, and second was 30 November 2005 with 17. Considering that July is a slow month at Cyburbia, I think we did pretty good.
