Here are some pics of my recent short but fun trip to the magnificent Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Say 'ya to da U.P., eh?
EDIT: Sorry, I am just learning how to post pics. Bear with me, please.
From the top, pics of the Mackinac Bridge, the world's greatest. I have walked across this bridge 15 times.....Picture of St. Ignace, the small town we stayed in.....I was picking blueberries and this big bird kept yelling at me.....Anybody know what kind of bird?.....The small lake is a nice example of your typical Upper Peninsula lake (Brevort Lake).....Every trip up north includes a stay (and swim) at the wonderful Lake Michigan beaches.....Check out the International Bridge, going between Sault Ste. Marie and Sault Ste. Marie (USA and Canada).....Notice the big crowd cheering this Bear at the entrance to Lake Superior State University.....If you pay attention you know that this Bear made the national news on January 1st.....Google Unicorn Hunters.....The Valley Camp is an old lake freighter now a tourist stop.....The Tower of History is a strange building in the American Soo.....The big old building is the hydroplant in the Soo.....very effective use of water power for generating electricity.....Couple pics of the hotel we stayed at in St. Ignace.....and a pic of the old train station in the Lower Peninsula town of Cadillac.
