#1 for now - for the first time ever!!

    It won't last long, I'm sure . . .
"We do not need any other Tutankhamun's tomb with all its treasures. We need context. We need understanding. We need knowledge of historical events to tie them together. We don't know much. Of course we know a lot, but it is context that's missing, not treasures." - Werner Herzog, in Archaeology, March/April 2011

Wow, this quiz seems to be a toughie.

    Only scored a 4/10. Meh.

I guess that's alright for someone who wasn't around in the 1970s.

Two days of trying this category and I have maxed out at 3 correct. If you have more questions from the cartoons of the 70's I may do better!

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
Broke parts take a little longer, though.

My score today looks like someone's who born in the 80's! They had 5 freakin' sports questions (and naturally I guessed wrong on them all). Has anyone ever been asked 5 of any type of question yet?
People will miss that it once meant something to be Southern or Midwestern. It doesn't mean much now, except for the climate. The question, “Where are you from?” doesn't lead to anything odd or interesting. They live somewhere near a Gap store, and what else do you need to know? - Garrison Keillor

7/10....5 sports questions Guess 4 of them correctly.

    This was a weirdo question.........

Q: Who were "Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft"?

A: 'Calling Occupants' first appeared on Canadian group Klaatu's 1976 debut album. Karen Carpenter passed away on February 4, 1983, at the age of 32 due to complications relating to the eating disorder anorexia nervosa. Her pure voice is remembered on 17 Carpenters albums.

Note: The Carpenters is apparently the correct answer although the explanation wouldn't lead you to believe so. Klaatu was not among the choices.

The game is fixed!!! We get the same number of answers correct, in identical time but you get two more points than me?!?! From now on, I play under protest.

EDIT: Oh, so now it's a 3 point difference between kjelsadeka and me? Forget it, I'm done.

Geez.....I didn't even bother to check the standings because 7/10 isn't usually enough to capture the win. How'd we end up with the same correct answers, in the same time, end up with the same score....and I have more points?

Shouldn't we have the same amount of points or are the questions weighted?
