    New Graduate in Austin/Central, TX

I recently received my MPA from Texas State University in San Marcos. My career support area was Urban and Environmental Planning, and I wrote my Applied Research Project on residential land use policies and conservation development.

I'm currently working in the Wildlife Permits program at the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, but I'm looking for something in land use planning. My interests include comprehensive planning, current planning, environmental planning, floodplain management, and watershed protection.

I've been surfing around the site a bit already and I've enjoyed following the discussions. I look forward to reading more, and I'll contribute when I can.

BTW, if you're interested in seeing my paper on conservation development, you can find it by googling "Ronald Ellis conservation development". Its title is Residential Land Use Policy and Conservation Development in the Blanco River Basin and its hosted on eCommons at Texas State University. Unfortunately, I can't post the direct link because I've yet to make five posts on this site.

Welcome from the Hoosier State along the Ohio River.

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

Are you sure you're not hurt ?
No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
Broke parts take a little longer, though.

    Hello, from Irving, TX!

If you're looking for municipal work, check out Texas APA's website. You can navigate to the specific regions of the state that you're interested in.
"We do not need any other Tutankhamun's tomb with all its treasures. We need context. We need understanding. We need knowledge of historical events to tie them together. We don't know much. Of course we know a lot, but it is context that's missing, not treasures." - Werner Herzog, in Archaeology, March/April 2011

    Welcome from Minnesota.
