    When do we start again?

I was just wondering when we get to start working on our teams, and who will be playing this year?

I'll play again. Can I keep some of my players from last year?

Somebody has to put Mskis in his place!

I'm in if we're doing another round.

All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country."

I'm in. We should be able to keep the players we had last year, and if anymore teams want to join, do an expansion draft.

Okay, so we established who would like to play again.
We've established that the people who won wish to have keepers
We've established that the people who lost wish to not have keepers.
We've re-established a smack-talk rivalry betwixt MSkis and the Tuna.
We've also established that MSkis will win again because he had researched the entire NHL for their best players based upon their pets' names and kindergarten attendance.

    BUT....

...When do you need to kick this off?...

Let's give NHPlanner a few days go get back to us. He's in happy daddyhood mode right now and won't be checking back for a bit.

My vote is for another draft. It's more interesting to mix it up.
    Forechecking is overrated.

You're just saying that because your team sucked so bad last season

I would prefer to have the option of keeping some of my players, and doing a draft for the remainder of the team.

Would it be possible to get this ball rolling? Preseason started last night.

    Understatement.

DUH! Ya think? Within the first two weeks, Brodie and Raycroft were on the IR, not to mention the rest of the team. It was sickening.

Thanks go out to nerudite for reminding me about the Hockey league....

Really too late to set up with keepers this year....sorry, but been home for 3 weeks with the newly expanded family, and have not had a chance to set things up until now.

ski's poll can be used for next year, as long as we start drafting early enough in advance.

    Here's the league info:

Brocktoons' "Baby Seal Clubbers" will take Transplanners spot.

As soon as we have everyone signed up (and an even number of teams) I'll have yahoo do the auto draft. I'd like to have it done in the next week or so.

well I'll sign up only if you need me for a even number... like Transplanner mention the time involved was more than i would like to commit.

Last chance for new players...we now have an even # of teams, and barring any last minute players, I will set the draft for later this week.

    Possible change -

How do people feel about basing the draft order on last year's standings?

If we did that the order would be (based on those signed up right now):

    Round 1:

    1. Concord Kodiaks
    2. Brass Bonanza!
    3. RumpianTunanators
    4. BabySealClubbers (was Maple Laughs)
    5. Stanville Puckers
    6. Muckers & Goons

    Round 2:

    1. Muckers & Goons
    2. Stanville Puckers
    3. BabySealClubbers
    4. RumpianTunanators
    5. Brass Bananza!
    6. Concord Kodiaks

and snaking back and forth throuought the draft.

Otherwise, I'll keep it completely random.

    What say you all?
