    Unique/Vauluable Planning Software/Equipment

Does anyone have any interesting software and/or office equipment that you find invaluable when it comes to running a Planning Department? Perhaps out of the ordinary things that you normally wouldn't think of?

As an example, a quality digital camera with an optical zoom is a must-have for code enforcers. I'm more interested in off the wall things that planners use in their offices that you wouldn't at first think would be helpful.
