    Karaoke in Deutschland

Talk about finding a travel guide for a niche market...

I'm vacationing in Germany in a few weeks, and was wondering if anyone among our great ranks has ever been to or passed by a karaoke bar.

I don't know a thing about travel to Germany, as I've never been to that part of Europe. However, I always find the thorn tree bulletin a wonderful source of information. Maybe try asking the same question there (it's part of Lonely Planet's website).

I will try to remember to ask LadyBuc tomorrow at work, she's from Germany.

I just got back from Frankfurt and Berlin (plus a stay in a small town I used to live in). I saw only one karaoke (BTW is that spelled right?) place in Berlin, but I couldn't tell you where it was specifically. We were out walking after having a great dinner at this little pizza/pasta place near our hotel, and just saw it in passing. Our hotel was near the Anhalter Bahnhof S-bahn station, if that helps in any way.

If you're going to Berlin and want to visit the dome at the Reichstag, get there when they open at 8:00. Otherwise, you're in line for over an hour just to get through security. And if you're into museums, the Pergamon is AWESOME! And Nefertiti is coming to Berlin later this month, as well.
"We do not need any other Tutankhamun's tomb with all its treasures. We need context. We need understanding. We need knowledge of historical events to tie them together. We don't know much. Of course we know a lot, but it is context that's missing, not treasures." - Werner Herzog, in Archaeology, March/April 2011
