Congrats to Michaelskis (split from the RTDNTOTO)

Well, I probably should mention that the GF is no long my GF.

    She is now my Fiancée.

Have you set a date yet ?

Is STAN going to be your Best Man or are you going to even invite him ?

    Reception = Laefest
    Oddball
Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

Are you sure you're not hurt ?
No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
Broke parts take a little longer, though.

    Congrats!
She is so going to hurt you at the next Stanfest!

As for details, it was not super romantic or a long planned out event because I wanted to surprise her. Since she can read me like a book, I knew that I had to be spontaneous. So, we were getting ready to go out for dinner with some friends, and as we were about to leave, I had commented that this would look good on her too, as I handed her the box.

She was very surprised and excited.

    Good going... sucker!

For your own health, might I suggest that you keep to monosyllabic answers to wedding planning questions. "Yes," is the only appropriate response. And you better be prepared to fall on your sword for any "no you let slip." Just kidding. Well, sort of....

Well, the big day will be in September of 2007, and we bought the thickest wedding planning guide that we could find. So, she now has a full detailed list of everything that needs to be done, when it needs to be done, and why. Since she is still in Nursing school until next spring, I am going to help her out with the planning process and such. She knows how particular I am about thins and how much of a fan I am of lists and agendas. So the wedding party will receive a full packet of information, with cover sheet, maps, guides, time lines, phone numbers, and such.

My sister, her sister, and her mom are all going to get together in November to go dress shopping.

As for the groom’s men, I have no idea who I am going to ask.

Congratulations! I've been married a little over a year now and have to say that I'm a big fan!

Same offer to Zman several months ago applies to you... I'll be glad to provide you any of our stuff from our wedding (program design--which reminds me that I still need to send that to Zman , suggestions on saving money, general venting about whatever the future in-laws or your parents are doing to piss you off, etc.)

The appropriate answer to every wedding-related question from your future Mrs. is "yes dear, I think that is a wonderful idea if it will make the day more special to you..."

"Oh, that is all well and good, but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country."

Congratulations, Mike! But, September 2007? Could you make it a little longer so you could really feel those feet getting cold, colder, coldest?

J/K. Best wishes to you and the future Mrs.'Skis.

Dave Ramsey and I think you should move the date up to June and have a dual ceremony with Z Man. That way, you can still save some money and continue to deposit 15% of your take home pay into money-market mutual funds and tax-free IRAs.

Congrats to you, and thanks for taking the heat off of me for a while.
You get all squeezed up inside/Like the days were carved in stone/You get all wired up inside/And it's bad to be alone

You can go out, you can take a ride/And when you get out on your own/You get all smoothed out inside/And it's good to be alone

Dave would kick your ass for having a June wedding (AKA wedding season… most expensive time to have a wedding).

We are going to take a mini honeymoon right after because of her work (Hospital moving into a new campus so no-one gets vacation time during that period). We are looking at going to Ireland for two weeks in the spring of 08 of the real honeymoon.

I offered to wait until spring of 08 for the wedding, but she did not want to. (and she did not want to move it up because of her Nursing Program/ Grad School.
