    Energy efficient zoning

    Hi,
Does anyone have any suggestions on finding zoning regs that mandate energy efficient development? Not so much prescriptive measures (ie.: all new R1 development will have 30% energy from renewable sources) although these are of interest as well, but more regulations that influence building siting & massing, lot placement for energy saving (ie.:shared walls), etc. Especially interested in examples for industrial or large commercial use. Thanks!

There are a lot of solar access ordinances in the States that have been around since the 1970s and the last energy crisis. But most of them apply to single family homes. Try Davis CA's or Vancouver WA's Zoning Ordinances (assuming they haven't repealed those sections).

No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
Broke parts take a little longer, though.
