    Design review guidelines for residential and mixed use development

    Hi all,

    I am working on Design Review Guidelines for residential uses or mixed uses, where one of the uses is residential for a Bay Area City. The City is built out, has historic character area or element and the possibility of smaller, older homes being torn down in favor of McMansions.

    I am looking at other Bay Area Cities with a similar character. Los Altos, Cupertino and Saratoga come to mind as possibilities. Any other cities that I should look into???

    Any input would be appreciated.

    I guess I don't understand what you are looking for. Are you trying to preserve the area by not allowing McMansions, so this would mostly be dealing with redevelopment? Or would this be applying to new areas as well?
