Does anyone have experience with cottage development? I read a bit about online and wondered if anyone has any thoughts on it as a means to encourage affordable housing into a town. From what i have read, the development includes detached, single family units that are on the smaller side to account for the smaller family sizes of todays american culture.

I'd prefer a mixed income development than a cluster-like development that was deisgnate as entirely affordable. Could this type of development work on the east coast as a mixed income development?
