Art Prize 2014 + Stan Fest?

It has been brought to my attnetion by Shellac And Vinyl VelocitY, that it might be appropriate to have a mini-stanfest at some point during Art Prize. Personally, I think this is an awesome idea.

Art Prize runs from tomorrow (9/24) until October 12th. So it would not need to be this weekend. (besides, I promised my wife a trip to the Windy City this weekend, although my sister and brother-in-law could bring the kids in my place if it was this weekend).

Anyhow, I thought I would toss it out to everyone for the good of the order.

Here is a good link that Shellac And Vinyl VelocitY mentioned that explains, what is this crazy thing called Art Prize.

    Poll will be coming....

No, and it's Obama's fault AND Bush's fault, because neither of them directed enough money to fix the traffic problem in the southern suburbs of Chicago and Northwest Indiana. Build the Illiana Expressway now!

In all seriousness, I would love to go, but I've done too much traveling lately and always have a lot going on this time of year. Pretty much all of those weekends are booked solid for me. Maybe next summer if the opportunity arises again?

    I wrote, "child-friendly mini-Fest". I DO NOT THINK A MINI-STANFEST IS APPROPRIATE DURING ARTPRIZE!

    To repeat my post title:

No anger do I harbor toward you; I just wish that my user ID were not associated with an event of which I do not approve.

I apologize, it can be amended to be child friendly. We had a mid afternoon stan fest in agar several years ago that was child friendly. The two don't need to be exclusive of each other.

As a parent of 3 little kids, I have leaned ways to do both be kid friendly and enjoyable... Alcohol is not a requirement for a Stanfest.

Than I am not coming. JK

The only date that could possible work for us is 10/11 or 10/12. However I will be coming back from the conference and we will still be unpacking and trying to shuffle around the new house. So I can only be a definiate maybe at this point.

I would love to make it out there for StanFest and Art Prize, unfortunately, this time of year marks the start of what's usually a 4 months stretch with about 8,000 prior commitments each weekend.

I would but I live about 1,000 miles away.
When did I go from Luke Skywalker to Obi-Wan Kenobi?

I'll blame Obama for the gas prices and the distance between us and whatever other excuse keeps me from getting up there.

I voted "Other" because I won't be able to make it, and while it is Obama's fault, Bush did it too.

Decide on a date and this old pollack will bring both his monkey and circus if he can!

I assume its protestant as the pilot will be one of those Duck Dynasty dudes.

Catholic... it will be the New American Bible, Revised Edition along with several handguns and AR-15's with rosaries draped on them.

Nope, the Pilot will be a high ranking member of Opus Dei, but he will have a beard.

    Incentives

We're enjoying Michigan's first BRT line. Park at the Meijer at Division & 68th, snag an ArtPrize all-you-can-ride wristband. (Parking DT is a major hassle during this event.)

I'm already here, and ArtPrizing (it's been verbed) most every day. DP, would be good to finally meet you! Anyone else? I will wear a Granholm or NOW T-shirt as a conversation starter.

@ 68th? My God there is stuff that far south of 28th Street? Won't wearing a shirt like that get you shot in GR?

Yes, and it will get busier even further south of 68th too. Tanger Outlets Mall to build 80-store center in Grand Rapids suburb

With exception, exception of me, a good amount of downtown GR is liberal. When you get to Cascade, Hudsonville, Ada, Jennison, Caledonia, and the such, does it shift to conservative.

You know, I just checked my calendar. I think I'm busy then. I'll have to take a raincheck for the next century.
