    Hello everyone!

I wanted to drop in and say hi before I start posting.

I have my degree in Landscape Architecture but am working as a Planner for local government. Hopefully, I will get all of the sections of the LARE under my belt and then I can pursue the AICP certification along with LEED. One day, I might pursue my masters in Planning.

I am still pretty new to the Planning profession. I started out on the enforcement end of things and now have moved to a more creative Planner position. This place looks like a wealth of knowledge and ideas. I can't stop reading!

    Any other LA/Planners out there?

    Hello, from Irving, TX!
"We do not need any other Tutankhamun's tomb with all its treasures. We need context. We need understanding. We need knowledge of historical events to tie them together. We don't know much. Of course we know a lot, but it is context that's missing, not treasures." - Werner Herzog, in Archaeology, March/April 2011

    Welcome from the Florida panhandle.
I'm a LA/Planner, too. Dig a hole, plop a tree in said hole, cover with dirt.

    Thanks for the warm welcome!

The whole dig a hole, plop in a tree reminded me of something. I once had an architect call me a dirt decorator. That seems like a good title for an LA.

What he said, but from a different time zone.

We called LAs bush-pushers at Ball State.

Thanks for registering and feel free to jump in anytime.
Labor is prior to, and independent of, capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration.

Hi from central Florida! I work with an LA grad who's trying to pass his exams, and he's learned a lot more about planning than he ever wanted to. I try to convince him it's valuable knowlege, but nooooooo......
