I'm a Planner with Bundaberg City Council, Queensland, Australia and have been for three years now. I enjoy a position that is involved in a broad range of aspects of the profession, including Development Assessment, Compliance, Planning Scheme Amendments and at present my current project is undertaking an overhaul of Council's Development Contributions Policies. I see myself moving into the private sector in the coming years, just to see what it's like on the other side and also to gain the experience. I would like to eventually end up in project management, I think as a Planner I could bring an additional element to that field.
Bundaberg is a small City located approximately four hours north of Brisbane. With a population of almost 50,000 and servicing over 100,000, Bundaberg has become a commercial and social hub of the region. Traditionally the City has thrived from the surrounding agricultural industry but more recently the development industry has been the dominant economic driver due to the significant population increase and climbing land values.
Personally I'm married with two boys, a 3 2/1 year old and 1 week old so we have our hands full.
It has been interesting reading through the forums and I look forward to reading some more and prehaps even making a contribution.
