Increase in water withdrawal comment request

I've received a request to comment on the filing of a water authority to double their daily withdrawals from 450,000gpd to 900,000gpd in a semi-rural area.
There is no explanation given for the reason of the request, so I'm kind of curious about the entire issue....
    any thoughts?

Check on the spacing of other wells existing in the area. Doubling the yield will require at least 600meters (183ft) spacing from other wells. Also, there shall be a well test to be conducted to check that drawdown should not go more than 2 meters (6.6ft.). Good luck.

That is a pretty big increase to propose without giving any reason(??). I would think some extensive hydrogeo studies would need to be done to determine potential impacts to area wells (if there are any others in the area).
In the beginning there was nothing...then Chuck Norris Roundhouse kicked that nothing in the face and said "Get a job". That is the story of the universe.
