I've been absent from the boards for a couple years but am back, and back in the market for a planning job. Welfare has been good to me, but I'd still like to get my shot at planning.
One question I hope to find the answer to among these boards or elsewhere: how many practicing planners live in the communities they serve? How much does it matter in hiring decisions? I can see benefits and drawbacks to both, but mainly find it hard to believe that all municipalities find planners who already live in their town or who are ready to move in.
Anyway, it's good to be back.
