Your Bottom Dollar: Cyburbia Fear Factor

Just got a thread inspiration reading that new Fear of Heights thread.
The folks that produced/created Fear Factor understand something about human nature and the fact that the show is STILL on the air proves it. We are irrational creatures and have many different phobias but we also have another flaw - we're greedy; which is the more powerful flaw? This is the underlying premise of the show 'Fear Factor'.

Presupposing you had a fear of heights what would be your bottom dollar to dangle from a wire over the Grand Canyon for 2 minutes?

Why stop there - what would be your bottom dollar for performing other tasks which violate you psyche's normal level of acceptable behavior? Say, eating a live earthworm or getting into the boxing ring with Mike Tyson (in his heyday)?

If I'm getting paid $73 dollars for each event, then I would do it.
I'm sorry. Is my bias showing?

Let's not be didactic in this profession, because that is a path to disillusion and irrelevancy.

    Six seasons and a movie!

I would quite possibly do something like hang from a wire but a boxing ring or eating a worm, NEVER...i know tyson would kick my arse and eating a worm just makes me sick...eating any kind of bug, being locked in a box, underwater any of that I could never ever do, not for any amount of money, i can't even go through a dark haystack maze with my kids during Halloween, terribly claustrophobic...but hanging from a wire/cable, doesn't scare me 1/2 as much.

Everything is in each persons perspective
A friend of one my sons went four rounds with Mike Tyson when they were both in their prime
He got one million for the fight
His father had fought Ali in his prime Lost but they remained friends and when he needed Ali for a fundraiser. Ali was there
So what is fear to one, is in a days work to another

I'm guessing you'd answer that one "for about $20/hour?"

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
Broke parts take a little longer, though.

    I stand corrected
That son informed this evening that his friend got 2.4 million for his fight with Tyson. He made it to the start of the fourth round
Of course I still think of them as little kids around the house

Laefest without is like an airplane without wings.... I could only imagine a similar and equally bad scenario... a Laefest with only warm beer

Ha! I've facilitated a neighborhood meeting of over 200 people with my fly open and nothing but comp time as my reward. Honestly, you'd think someone would have said something after the first hour.

Tyson can have part of my ear for $3,000,000.

Trying to think of the most vile and disgusting thing I might do for money, all I could come up with was:

Date with Ann Coulter - $3 million. I would go as low as $2 million, if she spent the evening with duct tape over her mouth.

Another True Story From The Bear

Here's the setting.....west Toledo popular bar, for years.....Nick & Jimmy's. A gang of us, back in the mid-1980s, were bar-hopping. We ended up at a big table at Nick & Jimmy's. As we all sat down, the leftovers from the previous group at the table were still on the table.

My friend Marcia says, "Hey, Bear....give you $5 bucks if you finish this cheeseburger somebody left on the table." Before I could answer with the answer they all knew was coming, others joined the chorus and a big pile of mula grew right before my very own eyes.

But.....the "used" cheeseburger received some additions.....other assorted leftovers, cigarette butts, etc.

My friend Jan put the plate on the floor and dug his boot heel into it, adding some farmer dirt to the collection.

Yes, this Bear "killed" the plate of goodies. It wasn't so bad. Needed a little ketchup, though.....

True story. (No wonder I haev been married so many times.)
