    AIB- Branding a Burning Question

AIB - Branding a Burning Question

i've been driving around a lot lately, through many a small town and always find it humourous how these places try to differentiate them selves from their neighbours.

For example. Here is Exeter, Ont. Their claim to fame, the white squirrel. Other places ask you to "tarry awhile" others welcome you to their "sepoy town".

So you know what the town is famous for:

Civic Art to let you know where you are

Anyone else have any funny local images or brands they'd like to share?

So you what to talk about White Squirrels -

Olney, IL; Marionville, MO; Kenton, TN; Brevard, NC; Exeter, ON
Not one, but five towns use albino squirrels as their claims to fame, and none is particularly happy about the others.

Olney, IL police patches bear an outline of a bushy-tailed albino,
    their website: http://www.olneypd.org/CITYOFO.htm#CITYLink

    Q. How would / do you copy that patch image to be seen here ?

    BUMP -

White squirrels top list in voting for 'Seven Wonders of Illinois'
    From my fair city's newspaper:

After three weeks of voting on the Illinois Tourism Bureau's Web site...
the squirrels had gathered 37 percent of the votes cast...

Cities in the Buffalo area are really unsophisticated when it comes to branding and promotion, but East Aurora is an exception. They use a Craftsman-style theme for much of their signage and street furniture.
