    Welcome!

Any chance you're staying in the States after graduation?

i am a permanent resident and there is a good chance that I will end up spending a few years working here in the U.S. before going back home.

    Greetings from Down South.

Hong Kong to Ames - that's a heck of a transition...
I found you a new motto from a sign hanging on their wall…"Drink coffee: do stupid things faster and with more energy"

    Hello, from Irving, TX!
"We do not need any other Tutankhamun's tomb with all its treasures. We need context. We need understanding. We need knowledge of historical events to tie them together. We don't know much. Of course we know a lot, but it is context that's missing, not treasures." - Werner Herzog, in Archaeology, March/April 2011

Welcome from the Mitten State (Michigan). I am an Iowa native and an Iowa graduate (but I went to the far superior university to the east of you). Hope you like it here - in the States and in Cyburbia!
SOME say the world will end in fire, Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice, I think I know enough of hate
To know that for destruction ice
    Is also great
    And would suffice.

Ames is certainly very different from Hong Kong. But I do enjoy it here, is so peaceful and people walk so much slower too!!

As far as planning is concerned, I personally think Hong Kong is a poorly planned city with little effort in historic persevation and environmental protection. I am sure you have read one of those articles published in magazines that critize the air quality in Hong Kong.
