    Enforceability of minimum lot sizes

My village has minimum lot sizes in its plan and zoning ordinances. I thought that was common practice. Recently the enforceability of our lot size restrictions has be questioned. Am I missing a trend here?

You're really going to have to elaborate on the situation before you get any meaningful responses.

you arent trying to enforce these on existing properties are you?

you called it a villge, thats why i ask. usually not too much new development going on in villages.

    elaborate, please.

If you mean that a change in your zoning regs has made lots that were once legal building lots but that are now unbuildable, I think you've got some takings issues to deal with, pronto.

Otherwise, I'm with btrage -- we need more to go on.
