    [IowaAPA] Planning Officials Academy

By now you all should have received the brochure/registration form for
the Planning Officials Academy, coming this spring to a location
relatively-near to you. If it's not near you please be patient; since
this is my first time offering this program I wanted to gauge interest
before committing to too many programs. If it's well received I'll
come back with more locations soon.

If you didn't receive a brochure (it may have gone to your city clerk)
you can go on the web at

    http://www.design.iastate.edu/extens...alsacademy.php

to download a copy. Don't hesitate to call if you have any questions.

Is anyone else planning on attending this event?

Dubuque County is sending 2 BOA and 2 Zoning Commissioners to the May 4th and 5th meeting in Dubuque.

    I attended

I found it to be very valuable. My only comment would be that perhaps some of the issues the smaller stand alone towns face should be incorporated for those people. You really almost need to have two types of sessions; One for the urban/suburban issues and one for the smaller stand alone towns of 5,000 and under.
