I present KANSAS CITY in May 2007 :: Broadband required

It's Kansas City, and all photos were taken in the state of Missouri. That is all.

May First Friday Crossroads gallery crawl

    The Waldo neighborhood at sunrise

    Sunset Hill

    The Country Club Plaza

Downtown from the observation deck of the Liberty Memorial

    The new Sprint Center arena...

Looking up at the Liberty Memorial...

Some scenes from Midtown Kansas City

The ubiquitous old Colonnade style apartment buildings

Union Hill - sort of part of downtown and sort of part of midtown

Scenes from the City Hall observation deck

    Power & Light district construction...

Davis Park, downtown, just north of City Hall...

Photos from the expansion project of the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art

To the left, the old - to the right, the new

In the Crossroads area again, at a small gathering to honor a bicyclist who was killed

More scenes from downtown KCMO, this time on a gray, dreary afternoon

Memorial Day weekend's Celebration at the Station -- On the grounds of Union Station & the Liberty Memorial for symphony concert and fireworks

And that's all from Kansas City in May.

FANTASTIC shots: you have a photographer's appreciation for good light. Also, you are obviously not afraid to shoot when the sky is not bright and clear, giving you some very dramatic skies. Thanks, I really enjoyed these.
SOME say the world will end in fire, Some say in ice.
From what Iíve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice, I think I know enough of hate
To know that for destruction ice
    Is also great
    And would suffice.

The texture is really unique and sets your shots apart. Well done!

Great pictures. These look a lot like New England triple-deckers, but brick.

Good observation, but the columns/cornice make them a little more dignified no?

There are "dignified" triple-deckers. I lived in one. Here are some more:

Nice, I was thinking about all of the triple-deckers I've seen in places like Springfield and Holyoke that look like they're about to fall apart.

Nicely don, Tosspot! Great color and use of light. Kansas City was not even on my radar, but now...

I was also excited to see some more shots of the much touted museum expansion. Most of what I have seen in the press did not give a very complete feel of what is going on with those "lenses on the lawn."

    Thanks for the post!

    WOW.

I donít know how you got your photos to look like that but they look amazing.

These could fit quite well in my old neighborhood in Dorchester, MA. I think I've seen some really similar ones to those pictured in Brockton, Ma as well.

Awesome photos! The people look a lot like the ones here in Austin (earthy, hippy types).
