Man with dead skunk hanging from car charged with DUI

WAYNESBORO, VA (WWBT) - A witness spotted a Chevy strike a guardrail on I-64 Sunday afternoon, then keep going, according to Waynesboro Police.
When officers caught up with the driver, they say it was giving off the all-too pungent scent of a skunk. The dead animal was hanging from the back of the vehicle in a plastic bag.
But the rotten rodent couldn't mask another strong smell: alcohol.
Police say 40-year-old Efrain Alvarez's blood alcohol content was .15. He's now charged with DUI.

What is it with stupid people and animals. This one happened over by the lake...LINK

Holland Township Fire investigators said the fire, which displaced 29 families, possibly came from an unattended torch that a man had been using. They ruled the blaze accidental. Police said the resident had been using a propane torch to remove fur from a squirrel carcass to prepare a meal.

Somebody mentioned it would have been Jimi Hendrix's 70th birthday yesterday. Here's a little insight into his short-lived military service.

Burglar calls 911 to save himself from gun-wielding homeowner

    http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/sideshow...163618126.html

I don't know what's better, the burglar calling 911 or the homeowner's instructions to his son. "If he gets out of the truck, shoot him in the legs," James Gerow told his son, according to the Dallas Morning News Crime Blog. "You ain't gotta kill him—just shoot him in the legs."

People will miss that it once meant something to be Southern or Midwestern. It doesn't mean much now, except for the climate. The question, “Where are you from?” doesn't lead to anything odd or interesting. They live somewhere near a Gap store, and what else do you need to know? - Garrison Keillor

Still trying to figure out the logic behind this one:

Stolen Train Crashes Into Building in Sweden

For the life of me I can't figure out why anyone would want to steal a train, especially a commuter train. My only guess is that they wanted to joy ride but that's kind of difficult to do since you're on tracks. Although this person clearly found a way to address that issue.

    Socks?

I bet the NFL doesn't fine Tom Brady for his kick slide. Arsehole.

But would the NFL have the guts to fine a player for sagging pants?

Brady was fined $10,000 for the slide.

You read that correctly--the NFL issued a greater fine for Gore's sagging socks than Brady's action that was unsportsmanlike and could have resulted in injury.

"Oh, that is all well and good, but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country."

"Basically they're having dinner together and they get into a verbal dispute and it gets violent from there. One of them had poured soy sauce onto the rice and the verbal dispute had escalated."

During the restaurant argument, Harris accused Geier of stealing his underwear. Harris then tried to pull down Geier's pants, the prosecutor said. "I guess he was trying to prove that he was wearing his underwear."
