    Generic FAC Thread

Coming up with new FAC thread ideas doesn’t get any easier. I’ve decided today not to bother even trying. Why expend the effort? We all need a break once in a while and I’m perfectly happy letting the ol’ autopilot handle my affairs this morning. So….
[Insert general observation about some common phenomenon or object the majority of people will have personal experience or familiarity with. Include one self-effacing comment, while using stilted vocabulary and exhibit no apparent awareness of the inherent irony. Take a more or less neutral view on topic]
[Pose open-ended question such that it invites posters to respond with either a humorous remark or profound insight/observation]
    [Include poll]
People will miss that it once meant something to be Southern or Midwestern. It doesn't mean much now, except for the climate. The question, “Where are you from?” doesn't lead to anything odd or interesting. They live somewhere near a Gap store, and what else do you need to know? - Garrison Keillor

    what was said above
Ask slightly controversial political question with a notable right leaning viewpoint on the topic as a way to spur pubic discussion about topic. Make sure to attack the person’s statement and not the person themselves... unless they are just being stupid.

Disagree with Mskis remarks. Take a personal jab and make certain to point out humorous typo

Make comment about Freud and his theory and give 14 links to back my thoughts on the topic.

Mention conversation topic regarding related subject to further justify statement in a self help Tony Robbins style format.

[Berate mendelman for taking thread off-topic, oblivious to the obvious hypocrisy demonstrated by Maister's own off-topic tangent in post #3)

Get back on topic by providing an extended multi-paragraph detailed description of a personal life experience explaining your poll choice.

Then add an apology for long windedness.

Post response that somehow attempts to link the topic to Dave Ramsey, no matter how seemingly irrelevent it seems. Bonus points if it attempts to relate to the Walmart business model.

"Oh, that is all well and good, but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country."

Quote a long winded, multi-paragraph post containing conclusionary statements without supporting evidence or analysis. Then add your response....

Insert a range of happy smiley faces in response to Dave Ramsey!

Post several lines of disjoined thoughts in response to mendelman’s post noting how it is all related to sociological changes of liberalism.

note that your happy that RJ did not mention his pool.

Maister this thread almost deserves a Leonard Pinth-Garnell qoute.

Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

[Reference Flying Monkey's crude humor remarks and try to turn topic in a more serious direction and attempt to draw more input from female Cyburbians ]

[Remark how poll responses are not going in direction originally anticipated ]

Start thread with scathing, flaming remark referencing a non-existent previous post.

    Moderator note:
[provide a general chastising statement that reminds people to play nicely and that participation here is not a right granted by the United States Constitution, so quit the "freedom of speech" whining]

Respond with comment that attempts to make me look smarter than everyone else.

Follow it up with a question that again attempts to make me look smarter than everyone else.

Finish with a comment that would be offensive to most people, but end it with a winking smiley face.
