First one is a dead easy give away aimed at HarryFosset.
What is this foggy and very orange looking city / town?

London? Is that Big Ben on the left?
Manchester?? Maybe.....blind guess on my part, never been.....
On the ground, protecting the Cyburbia Shove since 2004.
I know I know!
*earnestly raises hand*
In order to make it a better game for others I'll throw in a couple of hints...
It stands on numerous rivers, of which one is the River Don.
Nikolaus Pevsner commented that it was "architecturally a miserable disappointment".
(A quick Google will solve the problem, but may not be in the spirit of the comp!)
Glorious Technicolor, Breath-Taking CinemaScope and Stereophonic Sound!
too easy for me b3nr!
i'll have a stab at the next one though.
I'll pick up the baton then...
Where on this Septic Isle is this?!

Hmm, my first instinct was to say Edinburgh, because of the Bridge... but the architecture reminds me of the northern english cities... this is actually pretty hard.
I think finding that Church spire is the key.
Lightish building stone, gothic church, hilly, orwellian building to the left, pretty high rise. Hmm.
Edit: Gotcha Harry! Newcastle-upon-Tyne!? (My mum and dad would be ashamed of me for not knowing straight away).
I'd second the bid that it's Newcastle-upon-Tyne. I remember walking by that tall red brick building with a curved corner and going underneath a massively tall bridge when I was there a few summers ago.
Alright then. Lets make it a insy bit less easy...

Would it be Canterbury?
i reckon the irish licence plate is a red herring, i'm going for St. Andrews, up in Jockland.
Hmm perhaps it was a bit hard... its a holiday snap.
No the RoI number plate is a clue.
Another clue is the town gate is Norman.
It has no railway link, but does have a largish river flowing through it.
bleedin' hell...
umm...
*wracks brain for knowledge of famous Irish Norman gatehouses*
...umm...
wild guess - kilkenny?
Haha Harry!
Okay i want one to guess the afternoon, so heres the google it give away: its a major global cider brewing centre on a par with Shepton Mallet and Hereford!
C'mon HCeaux its in the bag!
/edit oh and i was wrong, apparently it does have a railway station.
Is it Clonmel?
Yeah!
There seems to be a fine line between too hard and too easy...
come on then...

oh my god...
Must. Resist. Wasting. All. Day. Looking.
Here's my W.A.G.: Glasgow, Scotland
^I was In Glasgow a few years ago and that scene doesn't look familar. Some interesting post modern stuff there though. That said I have absolutely no idea where this is.
