Just had birthday number 34, so I'm still in that 30-34 category.

Was... I decided to step back into a Senior Planner position at a larger city (more pay & better bennies like tuition reimbursement for grad school). The city I was working in was not fulfilling my career interests--very resistent to real long-range planning; exurban/rural area; no real mentor; and, because of income levels and city size, I didn't get to work in community development topics much. Though the title is less "prestigious", my current position will get me far more experience and move up to a director-level in a larger city, perhaps even this one if my boss has anything to say about it. I was also tired of driving 45 minutes each way for graduate school while I was working 50 hours a week. There's definitely something to be said for quality of life.

[pervy hat]That, and it was too much to resist for an opportunity to go back to work in my college town. Oh yeah... eye candy!!! [/pervy hat]

"Oh, that is all well and good, but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country."

You get all squeezed up inside/Like the days were carved in stone/You get all wired up inside/And it's bad to be alone

You can go out, you can take a ride/And when you get out on your own/You get all smoothed out inside/And it's good to be alone

Do I have to report my age in internet years or real years (or dog years)?

I've noticed that. We seem to be on the wrong end of the curve and we're not that old.

Well, I don't want to be too specific (never ask a lady her weight or her age):

I'm in the 30-34 age range.
"We do not need any other Tutankhamun's tomb with all its treasures. We need context. We need understanding. We need knowledge of historical events to tie them together. We don't know much. Of course we know a lot, but it is context that's missing, not treasures." - Werner Herzog, in Archaeology, March/April 2011

I just turned 33 a couple of weeks ago, however, my knees turned 53.

As of today - 43 (or 4.3% of a millenium if you prefer)
People will miss that it once meant something to be Southern or Midwestern. It doesn't mean much now, except for the climate. The question, “Where are you from?” doesn't lead to anything odd or interesting. They live somewhere near a Gap store, and what else do you need to know? - Garrison Keillor
