How can I start my planning field

I graduated with a BS in planning in 03. However, I never went into the planning field and finding quite difficult to get a entry-level position now. What would be the best direction for me to go.

You didn't say how many jobs you have applied for, if it is one, then apply for more and keep applying. Also, you didn't say if you were willing to relocate, if you are not, then you risk never getting into planning (unless it is LA or somewhere similar).

Go for work experience (unpaid) in one of the offices you're looking at, if you do well on your unpaid work, they'll make a job for you
