    My company has agreed to an idea I put forth. We will be putting on four two-three hour programs during the year, paying for certification and offering them for free to anyone who wants to come. If possible, we will film them and make them available through our website. Eight free CM credits per year.

    Sweet! My agency does this as well, without of course posting them. Only downfall is that they limit the hours per session. They may have a four hour session, but you only get two hours of credit.

    I returned from APA Florida in Miami this afternoon. At this point, I have a total of 36.75 credits including ethics and law. I'm over the top.

    APA has approved all sessions for CM credit with the exception of the following:

    Thanks DH, I am currently going through a few scenarios that would allow me to get the most bang for my buck. I only wish this information was available sooner.

    Who read their APA's Interact September 18, 2008 -- AICP Edition offering -

    New online course on HIA
    AICP is pleased to offer "Planning for Healthy Places with Health Impact Assessments," the first in a series of CM-eligible online courses from APA. Through examples and activities, this how-to guide explains the value of health impact assessments and outlines the steps involved. APA developed the course in partnership with the National Association of County and City Health Officials. It is offered free of charge through a grant from the Centers for Disease Control.

    3) Environmental Planning;
    4) Economic Development;
    5) Preservation Planning;
    6) Land Use Planning; and

    I'm several credits over, including extra in ethics and law. I wonder if I could sell the extras on Ebay? Or is that CyBay?

    May I carry over credits from one reporting period to another ?
    During any reporting period, you may carry over a maximum of 16 credits, even if you do not need to start accruing CM credits until January 2010. These cannot include the required law and ethics credits.

    Bump

    I logged my CM credits earned in Palm Beach last week. I'm up to 83.5 credits for this reporting period that ends this year. (I can carry over 16 credits to the next reporting period.)

    Impresssive, huh?

    How ya'll doing with your CM credits?

    Dunno. Does APA charge AICP to run ads in its magazine? That'll be kinda like robbing Peter to pay Paul, right?

    By the way, we like to complain about the APA/AICP's money grubbing ways, but lemme tell you, compared with the GBCI/USGBC (the LEED people) - which I have to deal with a lot professionally and for certification - they're positively Mother Theresas. hehe.

    I have a whopping 7 hrs.... getting 8 next week at ICMA in Milwaukee, then 16 at Upper Midwest in Davenport. I'll find an hour to self report and be fine.

    I'm at 28.75? CMs. After all the paperwork registering CMs for last years conference, I pocketed 15 CMs for 2 days. I just wish that teaching the AICP exam itself could count for CMs so I could pocket 5 more.
