I am kind of striking out on sending my resume and an overly-enthusiastic statement of objectives to local (Bay Area) planning firms and non-profit organizations.

My background is in marketing strategy and economics (with an league degree to back it up...), BUT i have had no experience in planning, design or real estate development.

I am just determined to find an internship doing some kind of data collection, research, analysis, presentation-building, etc. for either a developer, a consultant, or even an architecture firm.

Any advice on intern-friendly organizations, new contact strategies or written approaches would be very much appreciated!

FYI - part of the plan is to pursue a Master's in Planning next year, hence the need for a 9-month internship...
