    Big box control and regulation

I'm looking for a good source of information on control of bix box development. Who has good ordinances limiting size, design, or other features?

Check with the City of Fort Collins, Colorado. They have created some really good design guidelines.

Some books have been written on the subject. They are available through APA or the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Two that come to mind are:
    Better Models for Superstores
Better Models for Chain Drug Stores

    Rich,

Fort Collins is very good. There are also a few cities in Texas that have developed quite different but effective approaches. McKinney and Collyville (in the Dallas Metroplex area) are good places to start. McKinney developed a cafeteria-style point system; whereas, Collyville developed a fairly detailed equational model.
