    Preserving Levittown

Interesting article on how a preservationist is trying to save the original un-altered houses. I never cared much for them. However, I think it would save a lot of headaches to just build one or two lots complete with the cape cods or ranches within the museum, and fill the houses with the original furniture and appliances. The public could still admire the house, furniture, and understand just how small these houses were.

    Saving levittown

No matter what we planners think of 'suburbia' it is here, popular and continues. Instead of building larger homes on the perimeter, we should be engaging in thinking of creative ways to revitalize these neighborhoods. They already have infrastructure like schools and roads, are located closer to job centers than new developments in general and the home are smaller, more affordable.

Instead of letting these neighborhoods decline and gentrify, we should think of ways to use these already existing and established neighborhoods. The inner ring suburbs are the next wave of historic preservation...just watch!

Great example of how small a space is actually needed too. The concept kinda reminds me of Randy Hester's house in Berkeley.
