    Observing Buy Nothing Day

Article about the Reverend Billy of the Church of Stop Shopping made the frontpage of my fair city's newspaper.

Who is observing Buy Nothing Day ?

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

Are you sure you're not hurt ?
No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
Broke parts take a little longer, though.

I don't think that would be part of the commercialism of X-mas that they are talking about.

Makes me want to go out and buy a pair of shoes. I actually do reaelly want and need a new pair of boot around shoes, so maybe as a protest to this silly protest I will have to go shopping today.

I went to Lowe's this morning and bought a gallon of paint and a door knob. When it warms up a bit, I'm going to paint an old ladder white and use it for a book shelf.

    Off-topic:
I got all the x-mas crap off the shelf in the garage. The job of putting up all the x-mas crap is reserved for ZG. I won't lift another finger. Bah humbug.

It's impossible for anyone to buy anything today anyway--you can't find a place to park at the mall...

I haven't bought anything besides lunch. Don't plan on buying anything either, at least not today.

Apparently, it was "don't even leave the house" day here...

I got some work done. Feel bad that I didn't get around to taking the dog for a walk, though.

I had the same glorious celebration today. I plan to shower and change into clean sleep clothes later today as I never even got dressed.

In honor of BND, I will virtuously put off paying my bills one more day.

My poor wife was dragged to the power center (Target, Old Navy, Marshalls, Kohls) by her mom, sister and SIL. I played golf. I bought her a Grande Margarita that evening when we met friends for dinner. Poor thing!

(She bought a new coffee maker cause ours broke).

Almost same here - it was our "Second Thanksgiving". besides, i'm all about the online shopping this year. who has time to go to the store?

I did run out to Joann's to buy straight pins after the kids went to bed however, and the store was almost empty.
