Our agency is starting an education series addressing, among other things, transit oriented development. We are looking for a speaker to address the "design" aspect of "density, diversity, design".
The area has very little experience or understanding of TOD and they harbor probably a little more than the typical prejudicial reaction towards compact, higher density development.
That said our ideal speaker would have experience with attractive, well-designed, higher density developments, the ability to produce an effective presentation on the subject and other characteristics any one of us would look for in a speaker, inspiring, charismatic, etc. A bonus would be that the individual has familiarity or experience with urban/rural divide issues.
While we don't have a substantial budget we have some funds available for a speakers fee or honorarium.
Many thanks in advance.
